The hearing on the bail plea of Khaleda again on Wednesday
A four-member Bench of Appellate Division led by judge Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain adjourned the hearing till 1pm on Tuesday till the next day.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan argued before the Supreme Court about why Khaleda Zia's bail should be abolished.
After attending the speech of the ACC and the state, the former attorney general, AJ Mohammad Ali, argued for the bail granted to BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Among the BNP lawyers, Moudud Ahmed, Zamiruddin Sarkar, Zainul Abedin, Mahbubuddin Khokan and Sanullah Miah were also present in the hearing.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury were present in the court.
Security has been increased in the Supreme Court premises since morning. The court was searched in the courtyard when everyone was searched.
The former prime minister Khaleda, who was abducted from Nazimuddin Road in Old Dhaka on Feb 8 after the verdict of the Anti-Corruption Commission, has been sentenced to five years in jail.
He got bail by appealing in the High Court against the verdict of the judge. But the Appellate Division suspended it because it stops.
The 73-year-old politician will get bail if he is running - depending on the hearing and the appeal division's decision.
