RE: Can You Cure Cancer on a Keto Diet?

in #keto7 years ago (edited)

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to create any hate-post, and this is a personal opinion but I find that this is an incredibly irresponsible piece of information.

There is an obvious agenda by the author, but I believe that promoting a diet adding hopes of 'cancer cure' (a very sensitive and complex issue) and maybe giving hope without even providing an informed understanding about cancer or how the Keto diet would help on a biological level does a lot more damage than help.

I'm not saying it's a 'bad diet' - as it definitely has some great key points and anything that promotes a healthier lifestyle is definitely a plus. But the Keto diet isn't for everyone (any diet for that matter), it's not an easy diet to follow and has consequences if not done carefully. Everyone should be making an informed decission based on their circumsances.

Again, I'm not meaning to create a hate-post, but I can't help that notice that there is so much power to influence nowadays in social platforms, that I believe we should be helping people by providing detailed information and references to push them to research further before making any choice as drastic sa this.

Yes i changed the title. Thank You for The info.
I personally had my thyroid issue reversed on the Ketogenic Diet and know many people who have had cancer and have kept it away on a Keto Diet. No body is the same but this could help and is worth a shot.

Glad to see the change. Don't get me wrong, I am all in for a healthier lifestyle and definitely 'Say No' to sugar.
And I'm not saying that the Keto diet isn't an effective diet at all. I know people that are on it and benefit from it, but I also know people who didn't benefit as much (but still kept some key points that definitely improved their wellbeing).

Depending on your lifestyle this diet can be harder to follow, for instance certain athletes as it can affect sleep and recovery.

I'm happy to hear that it helped you as I actually know very close people who currently has strong thyroid issues and it can a very draining issue which affects your day to day. But I am also well aware that not everyone who suffers from thyroid-related disseases react the same way. Some benefit from different sources of control (like Natural Thyroid supplements), others by changing daily habits (walking more) but it's true that pretty much all of then will have to restrict themselves to specific diets for sure (and they have similarities... Keto diet, Paleo, etc...) which essentially boils down to living a healthy lifestyle.

But if you want to promote this information which I'm certain some people could benefit from, if were you I would encourage your readers to have professional advice too and get tested before and during the process to make sure it's doing good and helping instead of damaging, because saying 'it's worth a shot' because it helped some people isn't responsible as there is potential for damage too.
