Government of Kerala also offers ration cards
The Civil Supplies Department of Kerala Government offers the oldest form of identity proof i.e. ration cards. Ration card can also be used to get food grains and other basic necessities at subsidized rates.
In this article, we will discuss the ways through which one can apply for ration cards in Kerala.
Following are the criteria which have been set by the Kerala Government in order to apply for a ration card in Kerala:
Citizen of India
Permanent resident / old inhabitant of the Island
Not in possession of any ration card
How to Apply for a Ration Card in Kerala
Kerala government offers both online and offline way to apply for a ration card in Kerala:
Offline Method
If you prefer offline way to apply for a ration card in Kerala, you can follow the below mentioned procedure:
Visit TSO / DSO office to purchase an application form by paying a nominal amount of Rs. 5
Fill in the application form and visit the Taluk Supply Office with the filled up form and your old ration cards
Provide the required documents such as residential certificates issued by LSG office (Panchayat, Municipality and Corporation), Reduction / Surrender Certificate / non – renewable certificate from the TSO from where you belong previously, income certificate issued by village officer and declaration
Informations you have provided will be verified and upon successful verification, you will be issued with your new ration card within 15 days.
Online Method
Visit http://115.124.107.85/food/
Click on e – services login option
A new window will open where you can login using your User ID and password
Once logged in, you will see three options which are as follows:
- New Ration Card
- Non Inclusion Certificate
- Non Renewable Certificate
In case you have a ration card you will see 13 options. Choose the option you require
Fill up the form with valid details
For a new ration card, select the link New Application
Upload the scanned copies of the required documents
Submit the details after verifying all the provided information
Take out the print out of the application for further procedures. Note down the application serial number and the applied date for reference
If the application submitted successfully, following details will be displayed on screen.
