I love him from the opening lines. (Yes, assumed "him.")
I love him in the final, and all the in between lines. This haunts me:
And I hope, forlornly, stupidly, that the boy will come.
This reminds me of my little sister: the ghost of a child who’d slept her nightmares away in our bed for so many years
I love everything about this story
