Life lines used during the game
To help them along the way, much like its counterparts, the contestant had a set of lifelines available for them to use. Which lifelines were available were dependent on the format being used.
• Audience Poll (Ask The Audience): The live crowd would enter what they thought was the right explanation into a keypad. The poll's outcomes are displayed to the participant.
• 50:50: The algorithm will exclude two incorrect responses from the game, providing the player with one correct and one incorrect response.
• Phone-A-Mate: The contestant may call a mate or relatives member of their choice to help them answer the question. Once linked, the participant and the assisting group had 30 seconds to hash things out. Instead of a voice call. This support system was dropped for Season 10 in favour of the return of Ask the Expert.
• Flip The Question (Switch The Question/Switch): Remove the existing question and substituted with a different one. Any lifelines used to answer the original query were used up.
• Double Dip: This gave the candidate 2 options to answer the challenge, as seen on the US Super Millionaire. Going to invoke this lifeline, though, took away the opportunity to walk. If the game was timed, the timer will only pause on the first guess. If the first guess was incorrect, the timer began ticking down again. The contestant will walk away from the game with the lower threshold number if they did not make their second guess before the time limit even if it was incorrect.
• Expert Advice (Ask the Expert): The "Expert Advice" lifeline was introduced to the number of eligible lifelines in season 4. The creators will bring in basic intelligence experts to assist the participant in the session. In 2018, this lifeline was reintroduced for Season 10.
In addition to making three Phone-a-Friends, the contestant may also carry a chosen friend or relative in to assist them in responding to the question, equivalent to the The Us' Plus One lifeline. Any further query abt the format can be asked to the KBC administration via KBC contact number.
