Army and State Police brutality in Kashmir
One of the biggest uprising is happening because of a killing of a terrorist in the region. For the people of Kashmir he was a hero, for India he was a terrorist as he has killed Indian army personals, policemen and government staff and but for the Pakistan he is a martyr.. A freedom fighter.
Where is Kashmir?
This is reason between India and Pakistan. Some of it is under Pakistan and is called Pakistan occupied Kashmir and most of it is under India and is called India occupied Kashmir. Some small part of it is also under China which is also called Aksai Chin.
Why there are violent street protests happening in Kashmir?
It is all because of Burhan Muzaffar Wani.
He was a poster boy of Kashmiri militant group Hizbul Mujahideen. He was running a very highly influencing social media campaigns to recruit local Kashmiri youth and create terrorist and jihadist to fight against India.
He was shot dead by the Indian army in Kashmir in an insurgency operation on 8 July 2016 along with his other accomplices. He was all of 24 years only.
And since the killing of Burhan Wani the whole area of Jammu and Kashmir is under lockdown by army. There is curfew in all areas. A huge number of citizens are pelting stones at Army and police.
