The golden chain or the iron chain?

Karma

Many of you must have heard this word. It is deeply associated with Hindu religion. Well, I am not going to give a lecture on Hinduism. I am just referring to the karma concept.

The chain thing

Whatever we think, speak or act, it has an impact on how our future is shaped. We are in a way, writing our own destiny.

If we do good things, we are bound to get the results as good karma phala where phala means fruit.

If we do bad things like think bad, speak bad or do bad, we get the results almost tenfold and bad happens to us, in the least expected time of life, ironically.

The thing to observe is that, whether we do good or bad, we are bound by karma. It is either the gold chain or the iron chain and as per Hindu Dharma, we have to take births again to experience this karma and so the cycle of birth and death continues.

Lord Krishna has said that we can escape this karma cycle by not expecting any reward while doing good. That's it. So, if I donate money to a cause, I should not boast about it and should not expect thanks even from those to whom I donated.
As for bad, there is no way to escape punishment.

Child abuse is the worst sin according to Hinduism.

This post is not meant to spread Hinduism or motivate. I just wrote what I have read about. No reference to anyone or things or beings.

THANKYOU!

"not expecting any reward while doing good. That's it."

Such a wonderful quote. I don't know why this is not obvious to all, perhaps not.
