With the Purpose World Tour now cancelled, Justin Bieber will have plenty of free time to appear on Game of Thrones.

Following an exhausting 154 performances, Justin Bieber has cancelled the remainder of his Purpose World Tour.  Now, if one HBO star has her way, Bieber may soon have a small cameo in an upcoming episode of Game of Thrones.Speaking to Variety about the tour’s sudden cancellation, an insider said that Bieber had long considered the decision.

“[The tour cancellation] wasn’t a decision made overnight.  He’s had some time off and was able to consider his commitments.”

Over the last sixteen months, Justin Bieber had performed at 154 shows across six continents.  He abruptly cancelled the remaining fourteen performances.  The singer would’ve performed in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Philippines.  He also cancelled several US tour dates, including an upcoming show at the Rose Bowl.TMZ caught up with Justin Bieber in Santa Monica.  He said,

“Everything’s fine … I’ve been on tour for two years, [I’m going to spend time] resting, relaxation.  Gonna ride some bikes.”

Speaking to fans, he added,

“I love you guys, you’re awesome. I’m sorry for anyone who feels disappointed or betrayed.”

Bieber’s representatives said that the cancellation was due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Justin Bieber will cancel the remainder of the Purpose World Tour concerts.  Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them.  He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over last 18 months. He is grateful and honored to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across six continents during this run.  However, after careful consideration, he has decided he will not be performing any further dates.”

Scooter Braun, Bieber’s manager, also issued a statement. On Instagram, he wrote,

“To the fans from all over the world who took part over the last 16 months over 6 continents thank you.  To Justin who gave it his all night after night thank you.  And to those that won’t be able to see it… on behalf of myself, Justin, and the team, we are sorry.  That was never our intent.  But a man’s soul and well-being I truly care about came first and We [sic] must all respect and honor that.  Justin will be back and I know he looks forward to performing for you and with you all again.  One chapter ends and another begins.  Thank you again… Cheers.”

The tour’s abrupt cancellation, however, may free up the pop star for a special performance on HBO’s Game of Thrones.

Speaking with ET at Comic-Con in San Diego, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner admitted,“I was like, ‘Oh, when’s Ed Sheeran coming on the show?’  But yeah, they kind of did it as a surprise.  I was kind of mad because I’ve been talking about [Justin] Bieber coming on the show for a while now.  But it’s fine, I’m over it.”Ed Sheeran recently made a cameo on Game of Thrones.  In the season 7 premiere, he played a singing soldier who shared a rabbit and wine with Maisie Williams’ character.  Sheeran’s character sang,

“For hands of gold are always cold / But a woman’s hands are warm.”

Sophie Turner and the cast praised Ed Sheeran.  On Twitter, Sheeran called his performance “f—in’ awesome.” though hardcore Game of Thrones fans thought otherwise.Fans took to social media to slam the singer’s cameo.  GQ Magazine called it “distracting.”  Some had stated that the cameo was out of place.  One user stated that the performance was unforgivable.

Less than 24 hours after his appearance on Game of Thrones, Ed Sheeran suddenly deleted his Twitter account.

He has since denied that the deletion was due to the heavy criticism he faced over his cameo.Sophie Turner hasn’t followed up on her comments.  While she enjoyed Ed Sheeran’s performance, the Game of Thrones star may continue lobbying for a Justin Bieber cameo. Image by Adam Sundana (CC by 2.0)
