Convicted of manslaughter for text encouraging suicide
What she did was awful, and should absolutely destroy her reputation. What she said and the circumstances in which she said it are in public now and will never be forgotten. She'll pay for that in you relationship with herself and others for the rest of her life, but what she said does not negate her rights to life, liberty, or property. Imprisoning her for her text messages is an unjust escalation of force.
To hold her as a killer is to deny the volition of the man who killed himself. Arguing that he is not ultimately responsible for his actions, but that she is responsible for not only her own actions but his as well is gross inconsistency.

I tell people to go home and kill themselves all the time. If they do it, am I now a criminal??? I simply get tired of listening to people with their little petty 1st world problems and self created drama.
Mostly this is said as a joke to get them to shut-up and realize how ridiculous they sound. Everyone I know has "3 Hots and a Cot" and nothing really to complain about.
Although I would never tell a child or a person with a mental problem to hurt themselves, that doesn't mean, if I do, I should be charged with a crime, if they kill themselves because of my words or typing?
This woman was not the man's caregiver or in any way responsible for his welfare.
Is anyone making the argument that this person had no right to end their own life, if they chose to do so?
I put 100% of the responsibility on the person who killed themselves.
Hopefully this case will be overturned on appeal.
Very sad case...our generation is so lock up with the perfect image.... she probably someone that has been crying out for help....We may never know the true nature and thoughts that she holds with her....
