Justice Robbery tragedy offa

The more I read about the armed robbery incident which occurred
two days ago at Offa, Kwara state, the more I am distressed by the
inhumanity of man. Just today, I learnt two police officers were
shot by these armed robbers as they passed through my
hometown during their escape. Their tactic of preemptive strike
has brought Offa to her knees. We don't know yet if among the
dead one or two or more were familiar fellows. We sure have
friends at the commercial business district of this town. We sure
have friends and acquaintances who travel to this nearby town for
commercial purpose. These could be victims! These robbers had
surely planned to kill leaving the whole town with something to get
busy with while they carry out their mission. We learnt they first of
all 'checked in' at the police headquarters and opened fire on the
police killing about 6 on the spot. A pregnant woman and a man
retiring in some months were among the police officers who fell.
I don't have much information yet about the remissness of the
police in stopping this one-hour armed robbery but I wouldn't
blame them much. Who is it who has enough morale left to face
attackers after seeing colleagues lying in a pool of their own blood?
This was a robbery operation well planned. These robbers came in
their numbers. About ten vehicles were said to be used by these
wicked hoodlums. Roads were blocked, people were shot at on the
streets and policemen were liquidated before the robbery even
started. They blew up the doors of banks using dynamites. It was
said that they robbed virtually every bank in this business district.
About seven!
Well, they have done their worst. They didn't just come and steal
and get away but they killed innocent lives—even police officers
who were not involved in a gun battle with them. They have stirred
the hornet's nest. And of course, they will pay the price for their
wickedness.
I am very sure the police will employ all their training and expertise
to round up these hoodlums no matter where they hide within the
shores of Nigeria. These guys have made a wrong move with their
modus operandi. They have hurt the police. They have hurt
innocent families. They have hurt the king of Offa. They have
terminated many breadwinners. They have embarrassed the
governor of Kwara state and questioned his competence to keep
the people he governs safe, especially in a town like Offa which
has a history of bank robbery. These thieves have cut budding
lives short. The banking sector of Offa has run a ground again—
now more than ever. The people will ever be affected by the greed
and extreme wickedness of these scums.
I really hope these criminals are caught. I hope executions can be
made publicly again. The people should see the infamous faces of
these inflictors of immortal pain. They should be marched naked
to the stakes and injected with the deathly pills they have fed the
fallen.
Justice must be done!
