Jussie Smollett sentenced to 150 days in jail.
This isn't the first sentencing hearing that I've watched. It's easily the longest.
It's like Jussie Smollett won an Oscar, had somebody accept the award on his behalf, had the person repeat every woke talking point for four and a half hours (and counting), and the knob to turn down the mic was sabotaged.
After QUITE some time, looks like Smollett's lawyers are finally freaking done.
I would have been fine with probation and community service this morning. Now, I want the judge to throw the book at him.
I sat through almost five hours of his lawyers basically making the argument that he's big and important and therefore he should be treated better than the rest of us.
That's a narcissist's cry for mercy and his narcissism is what got him here in the first place.
They were literally reading letters by celebrities and reading the awards that these celebrities have won as if to say that Smollett knows important people, therefore Smollett is important, therefore he's above prison.
Five months in jail. Thirty months probation. Sounds like about $150k in damages and fines.
At least Smollett is serving some time.
will he actually serve time?
