Rice Straw of Aceh

This straw (Juempung) is still intact because of the retrieval of it in a traditional way. Not with rice threshing machine. In Aceh, women often help their husbands when the rice harvest season arrives.

During the harvest season, farmers will harvest rice in a traditional way called KEUMEUKOH. keumeukoh done by men, although sometimes women also participate. Currently, this tradition is in danger of being lost due to technology and the development of agricultural machinery that continues to evolve.

Dry straw is often used for planting or media plants, also often processed become the most recent alternative feed.
