RE: My 2018 Steemit plan: THE MOBILE HOME & the problem with modern stuff!

I love that school truck with the additional floor. Looks very "housy" but is probably the literal nightmare for car inspection authorities^^

Are your plans fixed to move back to Southern France? I've heard bad things about the region. It seems to slowly spiraling into chaos..

What I thought about as a traveling home is a saloon carriage aka Pullman (the private jet of the 19th century). I don't know how expensive that still is, but I'm sure there are enough old carriages out there, you can get everywhere with them and they are big enough to have space for a scooter to explore the environment.

Sort:

For sure that school bus ain't legal on the road! And I wouldn't like to drive it in high wind.

What have you heard about the South of France?

We lived there for a year before Esteban was born and found it to be amazing. It's a pretty stunning region.

I will look up some images of the Pullman now... thanks for the tip ;)

A former neighbor has - or had - a vacation home for decades in the mountains near Perpignan where his wife is from. He (and also his wife) are Jewish and it was never a problem of any sort. But since a few years the mood got more rough with some of the newer locals who discovered political Islam. Long story short: He they had enough problems that they decided to sell everything and his wife's family moved to Israel. My impression is that the temperature starts increasing to uncomfortable levels, not sure if that's the best for children.. But since your wife is a local, she probably knows better what is going on and where things are still ok.

About the carriage: If you find something up to date, I'd love to read about it. Just imagine sitting in your own carriage (nude!) with a good drink in your hand while the landscape passes by;-)
