Why I'm Here
Hi whoever is reading this. My name is Michelle. I'm almost 24, university student, learning martial arts and legally blind. I'm studying psychology and anthropology and hope to work in victims services when I graduate. I started training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai at the end of April 2017. Now, 3 months into my martial arts journey and half way through my Bachelors Degree, i feel like I finally have my life on track. My life up to the beginning of my university career was full of bad decisions, parties, drugs, alcohol, abusive boyfriends and a mix of good and bad friends. The choices I made were mostly bad, but they were mine and I will own that. I have come a long way in a short time, and now I am ready to help people who need it, compete in jiu jitsu tournaments, and continue working on myself. I work full time over the summer and attend full time university September to April. I train BJJ and Muay Thai 6 days a week, 2-4 classes a day on average. I have just started this journey, but one of my friends, a girl on my jiu jitsu team, thinks I need to share it with more than just my Facebook friends. Some will read this, some won't, but if you are reading, and have made it to the end, I will keep posting updates on the craziness that is my one in a million journey.
Best of luck on your martial art journey and in school.
Welcome aboard Michelle, followed and resteemed. I wish you the best luck on your journey!
