Journal – Thoughts on an interesting activist

I haven’t been writing much recently, I’ve been listening a lot and reading a lot and basking in the glow of the support and energy of others. To be a good writer I think you need to be a good reader too. You have to live in the moment and be aware of all the things that are happening.

So much is happening now. Old famous people seem to to be passing on very frequently. So many of the wonderful folks that I enjoyed watching or listening to are gone.

Recently a environmental activist was run over by a car and killed. He was walking barefoot around the country to raise cash for the environment and bring awareness to the plight of the homeless people. The news seemed to pass fairly uneventfully but I’m still thinking about it. Apparently he was walking on the side of the road facing traffic when he was hit.

It almost seemed like he knew of his passing. The morning he was killed he filmed a message written in the pavement saying “killed” just after showing a gas value. You can see it about halfway though the video below.

He had such an interesting energy. This is first I had heard of him because of his death. He had raised a considerable sum already for his cause.

Part way through the video he points out a “Dolphin Coin” shop. It kind of made me smile thinking of me being a so called dolphin in the pursuit of coins who also enjoys wandering around barefoot. Lol.

I feel the time of martyrs is almost over, but to die doing what you love is a great blessing. I think we can make a big difference in the world by living from a place of compassionate action and love.
