It's sad that it's not a surprise that the family of Jose Alba's attacker has filed a lawsuit against Alba's employer in a wrongful death claim.

Austin Simon was a career, violent criminal who was killed because he decided to physically assault a man who was half his size and twice his age. This lawsuit is a shakedown and it needs to be thrown out. Only, this is New York, New York is a terrible place, there's no way that they're going to toss out the suit.

What that means is that this small business owner, who needed to take out loans to open his store, is likely to be sued into bankruptcy even if he wins.
