Doesn’t the phrase “denying their right” imply that they have a right, which is being wrongfully denied?

It seems to me that this Jerusalem Post subheading should have been rewritten before publication, with “denying their right to an independent sovereign state” changed to “denying their claim that they have a right to an independent sovereign state.”

Zvika Klein, whose name appears as the author of the article, may well believe that Palestinians have a right to statehood. The members of the editorial board of the Jerusalem Post also may believe that Palestinians have a right to statehood. But whether Palestinians have such a right, or not, ought to be the subject of a separate editorial or opinion piece, rather than a point of view which is inserted surreptitiously into a news article.
