Air Jordan 3 “Seoul” will officially release on March 10th exclusively at the Jordan Hongdae store and at nike.com.kr. Created by Tinker Hatfield and Dan Sunwoo inside the Nike Innovation Kitchen, this special edition Air Jordan 3 commemorates the 30th Anniversary of two key moments – Michael Jordan’s epic dunk contest win as well as the Seoul Olympics in 1988. The shoes launch just after the conclusion of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, which had its closing ceremony on February 25th. Special details include the Korean Taeguki flag on the right tongue, Seoul in Korean embroidered on the inner left tongue, and the 1988 Olympics motto of “Harmony and Peace” on the inner right tongue. The Air Jordan 3 “Seoul” is said to be extremely limited and will not release outside of South Korea.

It all seems to line up rather neatly as 2019 will be the 30th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 4 making its debut at the 1989 All-Star Game, and the 20th Anniversary of the 1999 Retro. In regards to the original brand logo returning on the heel, Jordan Brand opened up those gates with the re-issue of the “White/Cement” colorway during the 2016 All-Star Weekend. If Jordan Brand were to bring back the Air Jordan 4 “Bred” with Nike Air, a larger campaign around its comeback is possible. Collaborations with musicians/entertainers, a special “NRG” version of the shoe, and much more would make its return that much more graceful. The Nike Air Vapormax 97 “Japan” Releases This Friday
New is ready to meet old as the Nike Vapormax 97, a hybrid of the Air Max 97 with the newly engineered Vapormax outsole, is scheduled to release on March 9th in the black/neon colorway. The simple sole-swapped hybrid will continue to be a trend within Nike Sportswear’s Air Max department as we’ve already seen the popular Air Max 95 in a similar Vapormax form.
