GET a Higher Google Ranking With PixTitle

in #joomla7 years ago

I would like to show you an extension you might not yet know, so you can easily and quickly increase your site's position in Google search results. It's PixTitle, one of the extensions offered by PixPro Labs, run by Joomler Sarah Watz who until recently served as President of the Open Source Matters - the organization supporting the Joomla! project. Sarah asked me a few months ago to assist with translating language files for all PixPro Labs extensions. In order to do this work, I had to install them, test them and see how they all work. As a result of this process, I found I liked many of the extensions.

PixTitle makes your site more SEO friendly. This is a free extension whose sole task is to invert a page breadcrumb and set it as the page title. I'm not an SEO, but I know the keywords placed in the title of the page have meaning. ;-)Most often, the page title is placed in the tag <title> and it is the text that you type during installation Joomla! It is also the title of the article, category or defined in the menu item.

Install the extension, then open the plugins manager window (menu Extension / Plugins). Look for a plugin named System - PixTitle Plugin, and enable it. You can click the check box next to its name, and then click button Enable. You can also click the icon in column named State.

After installing the PixTitle and turning it on, you don't have to do anything! The title of any page of your site will automatically become the reverse breadcrumbs!

And what to do with the home page? The breadcrumb is often not displayed.

PixTitle offers several additional features. In the field Change the homepage title you can decide if you want to change the homepage title. In the field Show home text, enter a title to be placed on the homepage.

After you save the changes, your homepage will contain the title you typed in PixTitle.

Additionally, you can add the title homepage on all subpages. Select Yes from the list on Show home text

After you save the changes, you see the title of the home page with reverse breadcrumbs on each page of your site.

In addition, you can also define a character separating the individual phrases displayed in the breadcrumbs. Simply enter a character in the Divider field. Leaving this field unfilled will use the default vertical bar character "|".

I don't know if the divider has any influence on SEO, but it may make sense to change them for aesthetic reasons ;-)

As you can see, PixTitle is incredibly simple, but it has a big impact on raising your site's search results. ;-)If you want to explore more extensions in the series Pix..., look to video with my lecture, which I had the pleasure to lead during this year's edition JoomlaDay Poland (in polish):

That is a nice extension that is sure to help SEO. Having great SEO is essential for an online presence. I have written several articles on SEO that may be helpful.
