Strength. Building up your strength is vitally important to improving your pitch velocity. One way to do this Is to hit the weight room. Strength means raw power. So this can include squat, hang cline, bench, and deadlift. Improving your pure physical strength will give you the power to throw harder.
Explosiveness. Explosiveness is the ability to provide maximum amount of power in a short amount of time. This involves broad jumps, vertical jumps, linear jumps, and quick explosive movements This is critically important when your body wants to whip the baseball as powerful and as fast as possible.
Mobility. Hip to shoulder separation is super important when it comes to improving velocity as well as mechanics. Having good hip to shoulder separation can take pressure off of the arm, and utilize your body when you throw the baseball. It also allows you the ability to sink into your hip and power out of it.
Mechanics. Understanding the way your body moves Is the beginning of understanding your mechanics. After you understand that, you can focus on how to be powerful and explosive within that movement.
