Jon Jones facing Daniel Cormier on July 29th
UFC king of the ring, Jon Bones Jones is going to face Daniel Cormier the current UFC light heavyweight champion on UFC 214. The fight scheduled on UFC 200 was cancelled before due to Jon Jones testing positive by USADA.
Jones was the longest reigning 205-pound champion in UFC history prior to being stripped of the gold in April 2015 following a hit-and-run incident. His final title defense before being stripped came against Cormier at UFC 182 in January 2015, with “Bones” winning by unanimous decision in the grudge match between the heated rivals.
Jon Jones undoubtedly one of the greatest MMA fighter of all time. Daniel Cormier definitely has deep frustration inside him for not being able to win against Jon Jones and we all hope that we will see some hell of a fight on UFC 214.
I am intrigued by this match-up. The good guy inside of me wants DC to finally shut Bones up, but at the same time, Bones is in a class all his own. Also, I like Bones cockiness and promotion. Yeah he comes off as a dick, but he backs it up.
I agree with you that Jon Jones is not an example for others to follow but as a fighter he definitely is GOAT.
I'm thinking he either goes out there and makes a huge statement by finish DC quickly or it's another unanimous decision.
I do not think he will try to finish him quickly, he will fight five rounds and thats easy win for him. but I was thinking that he should have had tune up fight against Jimi Manuwa before the championship match. What do you think ?
Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic would be good one. NY vs Cleveland!!!
Stipe is a monster and an absolutely great human being. I think he takes that fight and sheer size and pure heart. His boxing is too crisp.
Jimi Manuwa has nothing on Jones after he inevitably wins.
