To build upon our position as one of the emerging global leaders in the development and advancement of revolutionary and new solutions for the construction industry, Banah UK Ltd requires a Senior Research Scientist.

Taking responsibility for and leading assigned research projects, the successful candidate will have an innovative approach, making a significant scientific contribution to the development of novel cements and binders for industry.

Working as part of the research team the Senior Research Scientist will contribute significant scientific knowledge leading to the development of new products, enhancement to existing products and contribute to the maintenance of collaborative partnerships that will assist the company to grow in a profitable manner.

The successful candidate will be required to have the following profile specifications:

  • Degree in science, chemistry or materials engineering. Desirable to a PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, whith Post-doctoral work experience in a materials sciences laboratory. Strong scientific approach, results focused with the ability to work on own initiative.

  • Strong background in inorganic materials chemistry, characterization techniques, and Knowledge of silicate chemistry

  • Previous experience within a research laboratory environment including interpretation of results and maintenance of records.

  • Ability to conduct large-scale concrete trials. Understanding of construction materials testing.

  • Project management experience, and Knowledge of regulations impacting on scientific research Health and Safety in a laboratory.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including highly developed presentation and influencing skills. Experience in forming and maintaining productive relationships with universities and regulatory bodies.

  • Proven excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and ability to utilize innovative and creative thinking.

  • Evidence of the ability to work productively as a member of a small team, and ability to adapt positively to changing circumstances and environments. Proven strong organisational, planning and time management abilities.

  • Proficient in the use of IT for the purposes of data analysis and reporting.

The candidate must display a strong work ethic and have the drive and enthusiasm to undertake further training as required. As part of the banah team, the candidate must be willing to operate within the context of the company core values.
