Banah UK Ltd is a globally recognised company working in the development of GeoPolymer Cements & Binders with a production facility on the North Coast of Northern Ireland.
Based within the R&D Laboratory in Macosquin, a Researcher is required to join the team and assist in the smooth and safe operation of our materials science laboratory. Reporting to the Director of Research and Development, the responsibilities will be to carry out experimental, analytical and administrative tasks linked with the ongoing development of products. The role will also involve initial quality testing for the production process and general laboratory housekeeping tasks.
The successful candidate will be required to have the following:
- Third level qualification in a science or engineering discipline.
- Previous experience within a laboratory environment including analysis of results and maintenance of records.
- Awareness of the implications of Health and Safety practices within a materials laboratory.
- Methodical work practices, good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, working to high levels of accuracy.
- Ability to conduct large scale concrete trials.
- Ability to critically analyse and interpret experimental data.
- Ability to use initiative and possess a willingness to learn.
- Ability to adapt positively to changing circumstances and environments.
- Competent Maths and IT skills.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Desirable criteria are: - Degree in a relevant discipline
- Previous experience in a cement, concrete or materials sciences laboratory.
Understanding of construction materials.
