This increase your chance of getting job

Have you ever heard phrases like this before….

“If you find something you love to do you will never work a day in your life.”

“Follow you passion and money will follow.”

This are only part of the truth, and viewed in isolation will lead you in the wrong direction. Forgive me this next part is stupidly simple… but for some reason it is either forgotten or ignored when it comes to applying for a jobs and getting an education.

Supply and Demand

That’s right! Basic economics. The best way to get a job is to obtain a skill that not a lot of people have. Guess what the two most common college degrees are. Business and psychology. Employers don’t see how you stand out compared to the other person with the same degree. Gain skills in areas that are in high demand and you will both have an easier time finding a job AND get paid more.

Friends

The best job hunting advice I can give you is, never apply to another job again without a referral from a friend. Pretend like respect from people in authority is the currency of job finding, because it sort of is. If you are poor it means that you don’t have any referrals or references. If you are rich it means you can call upon important business leaders at any time to vouch for you.

Learn the rules so you can know how best to break them

If you are a recent graduate you likely shouldn’t be applying to a job at the VP level. I’m sorry, it is what it is. One of the recruiters functions is to bar the mass amounts of unqualified candidates from communicating with the hiring manager. The manager is paid big bucks to manage, not send ‘thanks but no thanks’ letters to people who are trying to suck up to them. However they also have a particularly difficult time finding qualified candidates. If you fit the bill, do you think they would turn you away? NO!
