Career growth
I have seen two types of people in my career first type are they always tries for better job opportunities and changes from one company to another company, second type are stick to the same job for many years and never tries to new jobs. In private sector jobs we don’t know about the future of our position in that company. I have also worked in four companies because of the offers I have got. From last 6 years I am working in same company because the working environment is good but sometimes I feels I am doing mistake by sticking to the same job for longtime.
Before shifting to another job we have to study the future of the company, if it is a well established company then there is no problem but many new companies without have proper management and vision cheating employees by closing their business. Some people stick to the same location and never try opportunities in far places.
Interesting observation @krishatnet. But I think that it all depends on what one is seeking to achieve. There are some people who chose to follow their passion, a job that makes them happy, as long as the salary is average. There are those too who seek higher financial achievements, so they may always move from one place to the other.
So if you have been at the same company for the past 6 years, you should consider if the job makes you happy.
True! Oppunities don’t knock at the door many times. So whenever we get we should grab it of course seeing the pros and cons. Today in fast changing world , changing job has also become an integral part of our lives for growth and satisfaction.

You are right, Sir. sometimes, it is better to change if you do not like being stagnant but those in govt. jobs stick on because of job security as you point out.
