Every good programmer will say you just need to practice, zone and develop your skills. It's sounds hard, and it really is, but coding every day, just for a 20min will develop habit and make you proficient and better with the code.
This is a must, and you can't have any excuse. Study, look at the code, it isn't a shame if you copy other's work while practicing because you will get better at understanding code, and also you your creativity will grow because as time passes you will want to modify what have you seen.

EXPLORE THE MARKET

Having a million dollar idea for an app just doesn't work if you don't have the market for it. Some tech savvy people really like technical and full featured app, but if you cram everything in your app the average joe won't know what hit them. Simple apps, where everything is at your fingertips works best. The smaller learning curve for your app, the bigger success it will be. Also trending lists and top apps list will be your indication for the market.

VISIT MEETUPS AND CONNECT WITH PEOPLE

Getting job as programmer can be really hard, not only if you are just starting but also as seasoned coder. The competition is tough, and everybody are battling for limited number of positions. Conecctionns with other coders will do miracles, and maybe open some positions for you. The best way to connect is at the meetups which are arranged every month, or week where you can come, listen, maybe help with some organization. Meetups don't take a lot of time, but you can grow through some advice and story from people who where in similar situation before.

Important thing is to try your best, never give up, and very soon you will land your dream job.
