Crafty Fridays - Hanging Charm and Charm Bracelet; February Inspired

in #jewelry6 years ago

Untitled-1.pngUntitled-2.png

A hanging charm and matching bracelet inspired by the month of February. The charm contains two deep red gems and a pair of amethysts at the ends since amethyst is widely recognized as the month's official birth stone.

February is the second month of the year, and because of Valentine's Day is also a time for love of all kinds. Love for yourself, you friends, your family. It's also a great time to try and attract love into your life.

I am located in the Northern Hemisphere so February is still a time of deep winter, lending to the blues in this project and rather than the typical pink or red associated with Valentines Day since not everyone recognizes and celebrates the day I chose a variegated purple to represent not just the amethyst stone but the shifting nature of love itself since regardless of celebrations this is a month associated with love.

The hanging charms can be hung indoors or outdoors, though for outdoor use I recommend a covered place such as under a deck or awning to help keep exposure at bay. The bracelet is designed to be removable by slipping the silver bead through a loop or it has a slight stretch and may be able to slip over a hand while clasped.

All pictures here were taken by me specifically for this post. These items are one of a kind, but if you're interested in the purchase of a similar custom order inquiries can be made to [email protected] for details and pricing.

Beautiful work, @sigilmancy! I've always wanted to learn macrame, but just never seemed to get around to it.

Thank you! That seems to be the case with a lot of things doesn't it? But if you want to you should go for it, it's never too late to learn :D

Very true! Thanks for the encouragement! 😊
