A message from #Jetstar

We’ve been advised by one of our suppliers, #PageUp, about a recent cyber security incident experienced in relation to their system. PageUp is an #Australian $company that formerly provided #IT services used as part of our employee recruitment process.

The reason you are receiving this email is because our records indicate you previously applied for a role with us and information about you was entered into the PageUp system as part of the recruitment process.

We wanted to let you know what has happened so that you may take any additional steps you deem appropriate to #protect your #privacy.

The privacy of the personal data we hold is of paramount importance to us, and $cyber $security is a matter that we take very seriously at Jetstar.

What happened?

PageUp has been investigating a security incident in which personal data of job applicants may have been accessed by an unauthorised third party. You can read more here: PageUp Security Incident Update.

What information may have been accessed?

At this stage, PageUp has not advised us of any specific breach of any data provided by Jetstar candidates. However, we are taking steps to notify all candidates as a precaution.

The type of information that you may have provided when applying for a role at Jetstar includes:

Name
Address
Home Address
Phone number
Qualifications and work history
As part of our recruitment process we do not collect:

Tax File Numbers, bank or superannuation details.
Depending on the role you applied for, you may have provided additional information. However, PageUp has advised that no attachments or documents uploaded to their system have been compromised.

What Jetstar has done

PageUp continues to investigate the cyber security incident and we are working with them to establish if any information from Jetstar candidates has been accessed as a result of this incident.

We have reported the incident to relevant authorities including government bodies.

What should you do?

While PageUp’s investigation continues, we recommend everyone who applied online for a position at Jetstar remains vigilant for any suspicious behaviour.

As a precaution, we are encouraging Jetstar applicants to consider changing their password within their online profiles. In any event, passwords should be changed from time to time to maintain security.
