  • Tolerating Others, Long-suffering, and Waiting Our Turn To Speak

Still focusing on Daniel this week and thought it would be great to look at Daniel's trait of long-suffering and tolerance. Daniel was an amazing example of tolerance exhibiting a beautiful Christ-Like Attitude and it earned him a turn to speak, as well as "ears to hear" when he did speak.

If we think about it, Being Bible Believing followers of Yeshua, Jesus Christ Our King, we should all make it a point to excel in tolerating others. If we think about it tolerance is really just being patient or maybe even "long suffering" when others are wrong. We can probably agree, knowing what we have been forgiven for... this should be a distinct characteristic of ours. Let's take a look at God's Word on this matter:

“Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things. For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables. Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him. Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:1-4‬ ‭

“So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”"
‭‭John‬ ‭8:7‬ ‭

“Then he said to them, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:28‬

If we truly understand what the Apostles and Yeshua, Jesus Christ, were saying and writing in The Scriptures, we should see Tolerance as a distinct characteristic of ours.

It's a modern day tragedy, but Biblical Tolerance is not what people have come to know as tolerance in today’s society. Our world has manipulated the word into a worldly meaning where tolerance is not being patient with those who are wrong, but instead leading people to believe that no one is wrong. This is madness! We cannot sit around and think that we can accept "everything" as being right. There are behaviors that are immoral and we should be able to communicate this to others. Being able to communicate this usually comes from Tolerating Others, Long-suffering, and Waiting Our Turn To Speak. On the flip side of that coin is the fact that, by the world's definition, if you are intolerant to anything, including immorality, we should be called intolerant hypocrites and cast out of society.

Although this is a tragedy of the Babylonian world today, it seems that modern day Christianity is getting a dose of what was delivered for a very long time by our ancestors.

Throughout history certain people who were believers used their influence and power to coerce different positions into oblivion. Whether it was removing a college speaker they didn't like because of a god-less attitude, pressuring politicians to take certain stances, giving tv networks heat about advertisers and pressuring those advertisers to stop advertising on shows they didn't agree with, or boycotting things for a number of other reasons, they did not practice the principles Our Father Used Daniel To Show Us. Ironically enough, now we have tv shows such as "lucifer" and we can't even get that taken of the air.

Fast forward a few years and now we come to present day were we see entertainment personalities being fired for having Christian views, church leaders being uninvited to inaugurations because of teaching Biblical Principles about gender, and business owners being coerced to serve opposing agendas or shut down. It seems today others took note of the earlier christians and they are dealing with us current day believers just as "christians" in past days were dealing with them... intolerantly.

If our forefathers, when in control, would have had the wisdom that Our Father had supplied to Daniel, do you think things would be different? What if Biblical Tolerance would have prevailed? What would have happened if they had let those who believers strongly disagree with speak their view, and then had faith in The Truth during their time to speak? If we had done these things, we may have still been unpopular as believers, but we would probably have a much stronger foundation to stand on and oppose the immoral issues today.

As we can read, Daniel never had these problems. Why? Because he left those who wanted to live like heathens alone, let them see his godly life, and with all his being tried to "Be A Light." Living like this earned Daniel the right, when it was his turn to stand up for The Truth, to speak that Truth. How did he earn this right? By Tolerating Others, Long-suffering, and Waiting His Turn To Speak.

“For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you. Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭9:19-27‬ ‭

Daniel Tolerated, Didn't Speak Against His Enemies Even When They Plotted Against Him, Prayed, And Had Faith In Our Father:

“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. And they went before the king, and spoke concerning the king’s decree: “Have you not signed a decree that every man who petitions any god or man within thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?” The king answered and said, “The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.””
‭‭Daniel‬ ‭6:10-12‬ ‭

Daniel Had Faith In Our Father, Tolerated, Long-Suffered, And Waited His Turn To Speak. Just Look At What He Says When He Does Get His Turn To Speak And How It Reveals The Glory Of Our Father. Here Was The End Result (Picture: The Angel Is Yeshua 🔥) :

“Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions. And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?” Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! My God sent His Angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.” Now the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.”
‭‭Daniel‬ ‭6:19-23‬ ‭
