Jesus' transfiguration: Don't tell anyone what you have seen, until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead. Matthew 17:9

The transfiguration of Jesus was one of the most important moments in the life of the Lord and during this miracle the Lord revealed his divine nature. This wonderful fact is narrated in the synoptic gospels, that is, in the gospels of Matthew, Luke, and Mark, but it is ignored in the gospel of John.
With this miracle, as recounted in the Gospel of Saint Matthew, Jesus showed to his favorite disciples, Peter, James, and John, the true meaning of eternal life, the life that once obtained cannot be lost, the true life of man is the spiritual life and in communion with God, and not the physical life dominated by greed and lust; furthermore, with this fact Jesus anticipated his resurrection because his person was not subject to the imperfection of sin but to the glory of God.
The transfiguration of Jesus was essentially a private revelation, since the witnesses were few and specifically selected among the disciples, with which Jesus demonstrated his spiritual authority as sent by the Father to fulfill his will, upon meeting the souls of Moses and Elijah on the mountain.
With these words, Matthew described the beginning of this sign of Jesus:
"Six days later Jesus took Peter and the two brothers, James and John, and led them up a high mountain to be alone. As the men watched, Jesus´ appearance was transformed so that his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as light. Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appeared and began talking with Jesus" Matthew 17:1-3.
And after this meeting, Jesus instructed his disciples in a very precise way, with the purpose of not scandalizing the common and simple people, and so he asked to keep the fact secret with these words:
"As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus instructed them, ´Don't tell anyone what you have seen, until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead´" Matthew 17:9.
