Questions for @JerryBanfield
Dear Jerry, I see that there are some people that leave the steemit community for several reasons. How do you think about each of them?
- As a user, we can Upvote or Flag content, but Flagging makes unpopular and unpopular looses followers, so better not to flag! So there's a positive bias on most articles and replies.
- Many people write, few people read. As rewards are highest for writing articles, it's more attractive to post than to curate, creating an overload of articles with little useful content.
- Some tags are much more popular than others, that is likely to encourage people to write about popular tags.
- Steemit is not decentralized, because whales decide what's hot and what's not.
Don't get me wrong, I think jerry's one of the greatest supporters of steemit and really helps building the community by setting a good example. His articles are well written, supported and I'm amazed at some of the detailed analysis. It's exactly why I ask these questions to Jerry. I would have liked to send a personal message, but couldn't find the option to do so (I asked in a steemit article and didn't get replies) - and I guess there's some value in putting these questions out to the community.
It's not an attack to Steemit or Jerry, I'm just curious about his opinion on these topics as I still need to make up my mind.

And what' the opinion about Bots for resteeming like the below. To me, it looks a bit like cheating. Or is it the only way to go?

I think the same as you. Some people are not reading this production of content ... it's something to care about!
And probably Jerry will not even see my post...
