THE SPIRITUAL DOMINION.. Entry for Supernatural Writing Contest by @jerrybanfield (SWC)...
At first, I didn't know what to write but then it dawned on me, my life is a story worth writing about, at least a certain stage of it. This has been the best turn-around that I have witnessed. God's intercession in forgotten and hopeless condition has brough joy to my family.
Cindy woke up that morning like every other morning, the sun was shining, the birds were chipping and there was a kinda chill in the air. For almost everyone, it was a great day except Cindy. She reminisced to when she was unhappy, tormented and enslaved until she discovered how to take authority.
Cindy took a long look at the woman staring back at her from the large mirror in her bedroom and smiled broadly. She was grateful to God on how things had turned out for her at last. In retrospect, she knew that things would have either remained the way that they were or taken a very tragic dimension if God hadn’t terribly intervened at the time He did.
She had been married for eight year without a child. Within those years, she had had five miscarriages. Every time she took in, something inexplicable would happen and the pregnancy would be lost. It became so frequent and she grew so tired that in her subconscious, she never really did expect the pregnancy to develop again anytime she took in. She would always in her mind cancel the pregnancy. When the situation defied solution after visiting various gynecologist in different hospitals across the country, she eventually resigned to fate, believing that barrenness was her cross. She gave up trying to make a baby. Though she wasn't happy in her barren state, she couldn't help but make herself feel happy by telling herself that she wasn't like other women, that it could be true that barrenness was her destiny.
Even though her Husband showed considerable love and understanding throughout what was a trying period for them, she never had it easy with her in-laws and the gossip flying all over the city. They blamed her for her childlessness and even threatened to get a second wife for her Husband whom they claimed shouldn’t have married her in the first place if he had listened to them. Someone everybody liked became a sight for sore eyes all because she wasn't giving them a baby. She was termed a witch that ate her children and other manner of names.
There were days when Cindy would cry through the night after having some painful encounters with her in-laws, especially molly, her husband’s elder sister, who became a thorn in her flesh. She was dying slowly and help wasn't forth coming. In all her imaginations of what life would throw her way, never did it occur to her that this would be one of them. She always knew she was going to hit a road block on along her Life's peregrines.But this was too much for her.
But Cindy’s story changed for the better one red-letter day. She was back from work, though tired, she had to prepare food for her husband. She was busy preparing dinner in the kitchen that Monday evening when she heard the voice of a popular preacher on the transistor Radio playing in the living room. She was drawn to it and took up the radio and placed the it on a raised wall shelf in the kitchen so she could listen clearly to all the preacher was saying. In actuality, she wasn't planning on anything, but the power in the message captured her and she couldn't resist.
it was her time and
even her couldn't stop it
from coming to pass,
God's time doesn't
ask for our permission,
it just happens.
The preacher was teaching on the subject, The Authority of the Believer. As he taught, he quoted extensively from the Scriptures but one particular Bible reference sunk deep into Cindy’s mind because the preacher kept referring to it and emphasizing that the Lord Jesus Christ has given Christians dominion over all the powers of the enemy as though he wanted to stamp it upon her heart.
It was Luke 10:19:
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on Serpents and Scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you. As Cindy worked in the kitchen, she kept reciting the verse aloud and suddenly, as if a Light had been lit in her spirit, she screamed with delight “I have authority!”. As she said this, she jumped up in the kitchen with delight. Although she had read the verse several times in the past, it never made the kind of impression it made on her that day. She was seeing things from a different perspective and dimension. She was ready to be the change she seeked.

At night, on that memorable Monday, rather than cry, she prayed like she had never before – it was a prayer of faith and authority. She took dominion over her life, career and family. She recommitted her life to God and took her position in Christ. She prayed against every oppression of Satan and cast down every stronghold operating in her life and family. She prayed and prevailed in prayer that night. Everyone who saw Cindy after that night instantly knew that something grand had taken place in her. The gait in her walk, the wide smile constantly on her lips and the peace written all over her face testified to this. And indeed, something miraculous did happen because a year later, she and her Husband had a baby boy whom they christened David. She had two more kids after David. She became a woman again. Her testimony changed. Her home became strong once again. The gossips died off.
The reality of our present human existence on earth is that every human being will either experience dominion or slavery at a certain stage in their lifetime. You either be in dominion or be under dominion; you can’t stay neutral. But the original intention of God was that man should live in freedom under the leadership of God's word.
To be in dominion and really understand and cherish what it means, you must at one time been in bondage because You must experience the night to really enjoy the day. So If this is your moment of bondage, a moment of darkness, don't worry God has a plan us all. He will surely make a way, he will send his word to you at the right time.
