RE: Subtract the D from PTSD but Your Brain is Still Scrambled

in #jerrybanfield6 years ago

my heart extends out to you @arbitrarykitten, you show so much drive and inner strength to be pursuing your healing so soon and making so much progress against such stress.

I think it is so important for people to recognize that PTSD doesn't have to be a result of military action or guns, it can be from any life trauma - this is why it is so important for people to share their stories and hardships, but I know it is so hard.

Thank you so much for helping to dispel this myth, for being vulnerable as well as a strong beacon of hope.

All the best to you in your recovery, @arbitrarykitten.

That is why I am writing this. Post Traumatic Stress is a natural reaction to any severe traumatic event. And the stigma and confusion surrounding it is very real, and I hope to spread awareness and open up avenues for conversation <3

Sometimes I fear we are not moving forward in our knowledge and capacity for understanding and compassion, and then I meet someone like you who is using their experience to try to properly inform and help others.

The world definitely needs more like you, @arbitrarykitten.

That really means a lot. Thank you <3
