Since the dawn of time there has been a divide among mankind, from rivaling tribes to battling corporate entities we lock horns in an attempt to dominate those who are different from ourselves. The Automotive world is no different with a number of different kinds of vehicle makes, models, county of origin, engine capacity, etc.

The rotary engine has been around for a considerable about of time with the first patented design in the late 1800s. It is considerably different in design and falls into its own category in the car scene. Unfortunately, vehicles with a rotary engine are often not accurately represented in video games and the distinct differences are often overlooked when presenting upgrades and modifications.

This is the basis of the above MEME. What is shown on the list of upgrade parts is a piston, something which the Mazda RX7 with a Rotary engine does not have, instead it uses a rotor (image below) in the engines combustion process.

While this is something which can be easily overlooked by video game makers who do not have the technical knowledge of how various car engines work, it is something which car enthusiasts take very seriously. Hence the 'triggered' imagery attached to the MEME as it can be considered as being offensive to engines that 'identify as a rotary'.
