From France, Magma brought new sounds to the emerging world of European progressive rock. Founded and led by drummer Christian Vander in the early 1970s, the band chose a conceptual story for their first release: a group of people leaving Earth behind to reach a planet called Kobaïa ... The album was released in 1970 and it was known at first as Magma, later a relaunch was made and it was finally under the title of Kobaïa ... regarding the style of Magma, the group is very famous for having founded the music Zeuhl a genre within progressive rock that combines jazz, contemporary music by composers such as Igor Stravinsky or Carl Orff, gospel, Rock in Opposition and avant-garde music ... =)
