Young Jazz Musicians
On his way home from work, my husband heard this jazz singer/pianist, raised by parents who are classical musicians. Sight unseen, he was hooked. Got home, called her up on you-tube. Seeing how young and beautiful she is, and accomplished, I had one thought: Chicago.
Ariel's original compositions and songs draw inspiration from a wide array of sources: Cuban and Brazilian folk music, the Great American Songbook, modern jazz composers such as Chick Corea and Brad Mehldau, and songwriters like Joni Mitchell, Randy Newman, and Paul Simon. -arielpocock.com

As i'm replying i'm still listening toJuliana's music... Pretty cool myself i am not really a fun of opera ...u know ... More of the cools and hip pop sytle..
But was told most by research that most people who listen to classicals and music like these have their brains open to absorb more
We were amazed when our daughter took such an interest in opera - and when our son took to jazz at a very young age - we listened to classical music and classic rock, but not jazz or opera. All three of our kids were in Suzuki violin, and they evolved to flute, cello, and bass.
People who listen to classical and jazz music "have their brains open to absorb more" - I believe it!
It is amazing to see families that have such diverse talent and intellect. Thank you for sharing. I have never been much for opera, but I love jazz and blues.
