ミツバチの家族の中には、刺すことのない種がたくさんありますが、他の種のように、コロニーに住んでいて、非常に重要な蜂蜜を産みます。 これらのミツバチはMeliponidosと呼ばれています。

ベネズエラでは4種のMeliponidaeが知られ、利用されており、Guanota、Erica、RubitaおよびConguitaの共通名が与えられている。

これらの写真はRubita蜂に対応し、小さなサイズ（5〜8mm）である。 それは暗い胸の黄色です。 後ろ足には、その端に黒い染みと花粉が残る種類の袋があります。 コロニーの入り口には、ワックスを使って作られたトランペットの形の延長が特徴的です。

Within the family of bees, there are many species that do not have sting, but like the others, live in colonies and produce a highly prized honey. These bees are called Meliponids.

In Venezuela four species of Meliponidae are known and exploited, which are given the common names of Guanota, Erica, Rubita and Conguita.

These photographs correspond to the rubita bee, is of small size (5-8 mm). It is yellow, with dark chest. On the hind legs have at their ends a black stain and a kind of bag where it keeps the pollen. It is characteristic at the entrance of the colony a prolongation in the form of trumpet constructed with wax, as we see it here.
