Japanese stocks rise for the second session in a row

Japanese stocks ended higher on Friday, extending gains for a second consecutive session,

with real estate companies making the biggest gains and a recovery in the technology sector, with exporters benefiting from a weaker yen.
The Nikkei Stock Average closed up 313.05 points, or 1.39 percent, at 22,811.08. The broader TOPIX index was up 17.48 points, or 0.98 percent, at 1,803.73.

The Nikkei ended yesterday's session up 1.4%, its first gain in four sessions, the Topix rose 1.2%, as technology recovered and the retail sector climbed.

Real estate companies gained, with Sumitomo Real Estate up 3.2%, and technology for the second straight session, with Tokyo Electron up 3.0%.

The yen fell 0.3% against the US dollar, extending losses for a second consecutive session, hitting a three-week low, supporting the rise in major export stocks, especially automakers.
