カナダ、ノバスコシア州のアナポリス・バレー地域で配布されている無料新聞『グレープヴァイン』には、役に立つ楽しい情報が満載です。主にアート、文化、地域のイベント情報などが載っています。漫画『スタードロップ』も、この無料新聞で連載されています。この無料新聞が発行されるのを、地域の皆さんはいつも楽しみにしています。

私が初めて『スタードロップ』を目にしたのもこの無料新聞がきっかけでした。読んで直ぐに魅了されました。作者のマークさんに会う前から、私はこの漫画を翻訳したいと心に決めていました。無料新聞『グレープヴァイン』も漫画『スタードロップ』のどちらも、地元の人も観光で訪れた人も、全ての人が楽しめるような地元のあらゆる情報が織り込まれています。地域に根付くというのは、簡単にできることではありません。地道に少しずつ、ゆっくり口コミで広がっていくことがいい方法なのではないかと思います。この漫画『スタードロップ』の翻訳連載が少しずつゆっくり、スティーミットのスティーミアンの皆さんにも広がってくれることを願っています。

Full of useful information is a local free newspaper which is called “The GRAPEVINE” in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia, Canada. Mainly, it’s about art, culture, community events and more. “StarDrop” is also a serial comic in “The GRAPEVINE”. People look forward to the publishing of this free newspaper all the time.

“The GRAPEVINE” was a catalyst for me to know “StarDrop” from the beginning. I was attracted to “StarDrop” immediately after reading. I became determined in my mind to translate “StarDrop” before meeting the cartoonist, Mark. “The GRAPEVINE” and “StarDrop” both include many kinds of information about the Annapolis Valley for people who live in this area and also people who are visiting this area to enjoy. Joining the local community is not as easy as we expected. I think little by little by word of mouth is a nice way to expand. This way I hope the serial comic “StarDrop” will expand little by little through Steemit and Steemians.
