I traveled to Nikko (PART2)
日光を旅した第二回になります。
今回も日光東照宮です。
The second time which traveled Nikko. This time is also Nikko Tosho-gu.
灯籠です。
灯籠 の数は全部で121もあるそうです。
It's a garden lantern.It's said that there is also 121 altogether for the number of the garden lantern.
陽明門です。
国宝で日本を代表する美しい門です。
It's Yomeimon.The beautiful gate which represents Japan by national treasure.
右大臣像
Minister of the right image
狛犬です。
狛犬は、獅子や犬に似た日本の獣で、想像上の生物です。神社や寺院の入口の両脇に向き合う形で立ち寺社を守っています。
Komainu(Guardian lion-dog at Shinto shrine)
Komainu in Japan similar to a lion or dog, they are imaginary creatures. Are protecting shrines and temples standing facing both sides of the entrance of the shrine and temple as a statue.
眠り猫
国宝でうたた寝をしている猫の彫刻です。
Sleep cat
It is the sculpture of the cat dozing with a national treasure.
今回はここまでです。今回で日光東照宮は終わりです。

I loved the pictures and narrative of the garden lanterns, Yomeimon gate, the guardian, Komainu, and the sculpture of the cat dozing . It is always such a learning experience reading your posts.
