Japan Rail Pass - Traveling in Japan🚅🚃🚄 JR パス - 外国人向けのお得なパス

Is anyone planning to visit Japan? I'll give you a little tip about the rail pass you can get when you are planning to visit Japan.
Not only traveling to Japan is very expensive but also traveling within Japan is expensive as well. If you already know your trip plan, Japan Rail Pass (JR pass) might be handy.

今日は海外から日本へ来られる方が良く利用されている、JRのパスの紹介をします。日本に住んでいる方は使えません。ゴメンナサイ。日本へ来る予定のお友達がいたら教えてあげてください。
You need to purchase JR pass at your travel agent before leaving your country. There are pass for 7days, 14days, or 21days. I purchased 14days pass which cost me CAD $520 (46,390 yen) for an adult and CAD $260 (23,190 yen) for a child.
You will receive a exchange sub at your travel agent. Take the sub to the office in Japan when you arrive to exchange to the pass.
このパスは日本に行く前に旅行代理店で購入します。7日間、14日間、21日間のパスがあります。私達は14日間のパスを買いました。料金は大人 CAD$520 (46,390円)、小人 CAD$260 (23,190円)です。日本に着いたら引換証を持って引換所に行き、パスと交換してもらいます。
This pass is for only foreigners and for Japanese who have lived outside of Japan for more than 10 years. You need to present the proof of residence outside of Japan.
JRパスは外国人旅行者と海外在住(10年以上) の日本人を対象としています。パスポートと在留証明の提示が必要です。
It is expensive but I think it's a pretty good deal. The cost of the pass was paid off with us traveling one way from Narita airport to my parent's house in north Kanto region and a return trip to Osaka from my parent's house. We made a couple of more trips to Tokyo and near by cities on top of that. So we got pretty good deal. There is no hassle buying train tickets at every train station you go to . Just present the ticket and you are good to go.
If you know where and what time you're traveling, you can reserve the seat as well.
少々お高く感じますが、成田空港から群馬にある実家までの片道と、実家からUSJまでの往復でほぼ元を取れたと思います。その他にも東京や実家周辺をウロウロしたのでお得でした。何より駅でいちいち切符を買わなくていいところが良いですね。新幹線の席は予約も出来ました。

Food on these bullet train are pretty good. You can even get some beer and ice cream!

yes JR pass is good for those who travel a lot using the JR line.
but i hardly buy it hehe, never travel that much
It was my first time using JR pass. I usually hate traveling. The pass helped us ease the trouble of traveling.
そうそう。これ。彼と日本に帰った時に友達が教えてくれたんですけど、日本の中では購入できないのでゲットできなかったんですよ。涙。
次日本に帰るときはゲットしようと思います！！

知り合いの中国人の方が4月に大阪に行くって言ってました。
こちらカナダで購入（支払い）して、成田で実際のパスを発行してもらうんですよね。
新幹線を良く使う旅行者にはすごいお得なパスですね。
そうです。パスを発行してもらう時に旅の予定が決まっていれば、そこで新幹線の予約もしてくれるので助かりました。けれどスゴい行列でかなり並んで待ちました。

I agree that it's pretty expensive for a 14 day pass, but I'm sure it pays off if you are traveling a lot during your stay. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the post! I'm interested in learning about Japanese culture, so this was an interesting read for sure.
I'm glad you found it interesting. The trip there was full of fun. I hope to introduce more Japanese culture in the future :)
