Biggest Dance Festival in Japan

Continuing from my last post here are some more photos. Along all of the big streets you will find small bands of dancers doing fun dances. You will find them wielding taiko drums, Shamisen lutes, bells and flutes. They play distinctive beats and tunes along side the dances which sync together to from their performance.

You will also find a different performance where a group will form a circle and create a beat. In the middle a male dancer will show off his acrobatics pretending to be a kite whilst some one pretends to manipulate him.

Half of the streets will be filled with people in traditional clothing and costumes, many of which will be dancing at some point. With much merriment there is a lot of drinking and eating with many food stalls and drink stalls including alcohol.

There were a lot of people here as I mentioned in last post, over 1 million people gather during the festival every year, many of which are tourists.

More to come in my next post.

Thanks for viewing, my posts are about the journey, the process and showing my experiences. Don't hesitate to ask questions. All the photos are mine and can be found at https://www.flickr.com/photos/takoyaki_king/ Follow me if you interested in photography and travel.

That looks like a lot of fun! Vibrant colors and dance would make that an interesting one to see :-)

Definitely worth a visit
