Japan Photo Blog, Vol. 35: "Sanpo."
散歩 [さんぽ (sanpo)] 🚶
"Walk, stroll, promenade."
The idea of taking a walk just for a walk's sake is an important part of Japanese culture. Today I went out for a sanpo and captured some interesting sights, including a uniquely designed Starbucks, a new walking path, a Neko bus (the "cat bus" from the classic Japanese animated film "Tonari no Tottoro") parked at a local kindergarten, and the shinkansen (bullet train) tracks speeding onward and inwards toward the city.
Please join me as we take today's sanpo.
Thanks for joining me today. If you missed the last installment of Japan Photo Blog, "The Lonely Crew Waiting for a Late-night Dinner," you can find it here.

Nice post : )
The streets look so quiet in Japan. Not a single person in sight!
That's right! You'll notice this in a lot of animé as well!
Plus, everybody is at work right now, except me ;)
I wonder what area is this :) I'd love to live or visit there!
Thanks Graham, Did you grow up there?
No, grew up in the states. Been living here for about 7 years now.
