慈光寺 - A Visit to the Temple. A Visit to the Woods. (photos, short videos, and thoughts)
Take the winding road, heading into the hills. Watch as the golden green rice is harvested. Just us, today, not “at work,” or “at school,” traveling this road together. We find something new. A new temple (new to us), and a new little adventure.
The trees are bigger than any I’ve seen in Japan, and you are my favorite travel companion, so I am glad we can see this together. Walking up the winding path to the temple.
We encounter many little friends along the way. Their red hats setting off the green of the forest.
Walk with us, a bit?
33 little buddhas welcome us, as we arrive, crossing streams, inhaling the fresh air, and finding this new place to be very peaceful and full of beauty.
Will you say a prayer with us for peace? (or maybe video games and toys, I am not sure ;))
Now here we are at jikouji temple. Wanna see?
As I watch you run up the stairs to the temple, and see things with fresh eyes, I realize that the “pressures of the world,” though I perceive them as unrelenting, are no match for your vision. Your enthusiasm for life is more beautiful than diamonds to me. More valuable than anything I know.
Now, it is time to go? Did we have fun? I feel joy inside when you say “it was fun” all of your own accord. This is my success beyond success! To be a good daddy for you.
Let’s say goodbye to this place now, until next time!

Fabulous place!
wow what an amazing post! i found you out randomly just checking the new page and this post is awesome. Both pictures and videos make it more enjoyable i think!
Also for some reason i really like the ancient Asian culture in general the history of the Asian countries. The temple looks so cool and it's like it's in the middle of nowhere! Also how cool are the red hat statues? :)
Even the river looks in perfect sync with the environment around it!

Greenery and such peaceful nature always give treating effect for a body and a soul
I like amazing small waterfalls in the upstairs the most!
looks just fantastically!
and this little handsome angel is so sweet;)
The waterfalls were one of my favorite parts, too :)
Japan has mountains and forest. What more does a human need, right? Those temples are pretty old and still standing strong. It reminds me of Japanese castles. They were built to last forever. I've studied them a bit from a physical security perspective. The engineers definitely knew what they were doing, and their creations were both works of art and excellent defenses!
Yes! The castles are fucking badass. Lots of thought went into keeping the ruler safe!
Have you ever posted with the story about how you ended up in Japan? Where you met your spouse/partner? I'd love to hear more about those things if you're ever willing to share about them.
Not really, no. Of course bits and pieces of it have come out here and there. Thanks for the idea. Might be fun to do, and good for me.
wow those trees are very beautiful and the walk up, what an amazing place to discover with your son, school can never match up to nature when it comes to educating and inspiring us. Treasure these moments my friend as I am sure you do, thank you for sharing them also xx
