Buying Goodies and Snacks from our Japan Trips

in japan •  last month

Japan has some of the most amazing snacks and goodies for every visitors, young or old. All of them are beautifully packaged and are the perfect souvenirs for friends and families.

In most of our Japan trips, we will usually spend thousands of yen on the last day on snacks and goodies, enough to last for a few months until our next trip. The best places to buy these goodies are supermarkets, Don Quixote (as they open 24/7) and Konbini. But the best and most convenient places to get these last minute goodies is at the airport. Anyone who had been to Narita Airport will be familiar with the FaSoLa DFS shop and their trademark Red-Pink plastic shopping bags.

Here are some of our favourites. KitKat that comes in all kinds of flavour. Matcha, Sakura and Blueberry are really nice! The Calbee packs are small, and we usually unpack them and throw each individual pack into any empty space in the luggage.

Another source of these goodies are actually from Pachinko Parlour, leftover winnings were exchanged for snacks! And in recent years, there are more and more UFO catcher at game centers where we can try our luck to get some Pocky or KitKat.

Chocopie is another favourite and they are usually seasonal release available only at supermarket and Lawson. Take a look at that Sake flavoured KitKat, it is only available in Japan!

You guys have a sweet tooth like me. Those blueberry cheesecake Kit-Kats look good!

Donqui is the best! Usually the cheapest with a good selection. They also have oddities that you can't find anywhere else, like Genghis Khan candies and such!

Enjoy the snacks!

Totally agree! Donki also has a great selection of matcha-flavored titbits! 😍
