1998 in Okinawa (sunburn coming)
On this day, on a mujinto off the coast of the main Okinawan island, I received my worst sunburn ever. It was on the tops of my feet, the only place where I was corporeally thoughtless to rub in some sun lotion. Also memorable on this day was my attempt to circumambulate the hill in the center of the island. There was a line in the sand, that once crossed, invited sea birds to swoop towards your face at blurring speeds. I never circumambulated that hill. It was way too dangerous.
