Beautiful shots... Now I know why they pose the pagodas with branches of the sakura... (presuming that's sakura) - it's beautiful! Seems to me, in every culture there are shrines and cemeteries dedicated to lost children - I found one in Kathmandu, Nepal...
Yes, those were sakura, young ones.
I am sure, like most shrines & cemeteries, people hope that one day they will see those lost ones again. It must be unbearable to loose a young child.
