The year is 1968, During that period I was a composer but at the same time I was also doing a lot of musical arrangement for both french and foreign singers. I was particularly involved with the label Phillips in France, whom asked me one day to arrange music for the 7 inch 'Love / The Dream?' of a very good canadian singer and lyricist called DAVY JONES. Straight away I accepted the offer. This 7 inch had a good success.

We got along together fine and continued to collaborate as I wrote other songs for his next record 'Funk Machine' I was also playing music on stage and doing TV shows with him on the Hammond B3 organ with my orchestra like at famous Parisien venue l'Olympia.

Following our great collaboration we decided to establish our own recording label, JU JU RECORDS.

Davy Jones was obsessed with voodoo culture and went very oftenely to obscure rituals in Paris.

Actually the logo of the label was created when the two of them stumbled on a medallion in the flea market of Paris, since then Davy kept it around his neck

Thanks to my very good relationship with Eddie Barclay whom invited me often to his label or in his house in Paris, we proposed him to distribute our six 7 inch. The project had 2 singers, a female vocalist my wife 'Yohanna' , a trumpet pop tune and an instrumental track called VOODOO JU JU OBSESSION - Part 1 & 2.

With Eddie's support we launched a new dance for the later track during the summer of 1969. Eddie did a good promotion both in Paris & in St Tropez at the Hôtel Byblos for a big happening as well as another TV show with team of dancers and got us a couple of national TV shows like ' Pulsations' produced by Gésip Légitimus and hosted by Manu Dibango & his orchestra.

And then suddenly my mate Davy Jones was gone with the wind at the end of 1969. I have done everything i could to track him down without succes. Today i am so sad he disapeared like that because we were so close, both as friends and professionally speaking.

Since then no news from him maybe he has become a voodoo priest in Haiti ?

I dedicate this record to his daughter Pearl. .
