Entre mis investigaciones por el mundo virtual, he logrado tener la oportunidad de encontrar un tesoro perdido que representa una gran importancia para el Reggae, uno de los principales exponentes del ritmo caribeño que pudo identificar el género en una canción.
Y es que así fue, la banda Toots & The Maytals en su memorable canción “Do The Reggay” nombró por primera vez el Reggae en una canción para darle identidad al ritmo que ellos representaban, sin duda alguna, la canción reflejaba lo que la música caribeña representa, alegría, baile, seducción y amor.
And it was so, the band Toots & The Maytals in their memorable song "Do The Reggay" named for the first time Reggae in a song to give identity to the rhythm that they represented, without a doubt, the song reflected what Caribbean music represents, joy, dance, seduction and love.
El Reggae nace de la necesidad de un movimiento emergente que intenta mostrar al mundo sus raíces culturales, muchas atribuciones se han dado a la luz para denominar la palabra Reggae. Para Toots Hibbert esta palabra iba relacionada a las personas que se vestían mal, pero Bob Marley relacionaba al Reggae como la música del Rey, para mi el Reggae es la liberación de la mente. Nada queda oculto cuando un Reggae se deja sonar, cada canción muestra completamente un sentimiento sincero, para agradecer, para protestar o el simple hecho de enamorar.
Reggae was born out of the need for an emerging movement to show the world its cultural roots, many attributes have been given birth to the word Reggae. For Toots Hibbert this word was related to people who dressed badly, but Bob Marley related Reggae as the music of the King, for me Reggae is the liberation of the mind. Nothing is hidden when a Reggae is played, each song shows completely a sincere feeling, to thank, to protest or just to fall in love.
