Hey @clumsysilverdad. I get often get asked that question but it is hard to answer. A lot depends on what you want to do with your computer/laptop. Building a PC is cheaper than a laptop, go for the AMD processor instead of Intel. There are also very decent mini computers available that can do what you need. I recently bought one for my son (Asus), you can even hook those up behind your monitor.
